Who
we are
The
Western Maryland Watercolor Society is an independent organization
under the control of the membership. Membership meetings are
open to any interested individual.
We are organized to provide services to those interested in watercolor
painting. The business year is September through August.
General meetings will be held the first Monday of each month
in the months of September through June unless otherwise directed
by the Executive Board.
Mission Statement: The purpose
of the club shall be to promote and to help develop the aesthetic
and professional interest of watercolor painting to its own members
and the public.
Overall Goals:
1. To evaluate the stature of watercolor
and to educate/interest the public in the importance of watercolor
as a creative painting medium.
2. To further interests of watercolor
painters by providing opportunities for growth vi: critical support,
exhibits, classes, workshops, etc. as deemed necessary by members.
3. To encourage members to paint watercolor
paintings and to strive toward high standards in the field of watercolor.
Specific Goals:
1. To maintain high attendance at regularly
scheduled meetings.
2. To manage the society to meet changing needs as they arise.
3. To strive for professional image and promote that image to the
community.
4. To study and plan for new programs.
5. To seek exhibition opportunities for members.
6. To provide member services to foster continued interest in watercolor
painting.
