RECEIVING:   Monday, June 11, 12 noon - 6 pm

 

JUDGING:   Saturday, June 16

 

OPENING RECEPTION:  Saturday, June 16, 6-8 pm

 

PICK UP:  Saturday, July 14, 11 am - 4 pm

 

SHOW RULES

 

1.     PARTICIPANTS:  Members of Western Maryland Watercolor Society with membership dues up to date and have attended at least three meetings prior to the show date.

 

2.     MEDIUM:  Watercolor is the accepted medium.  Also, the use of watercolor pencil or crayons as well as gouache is accepted.

 

3.     SIZE:  Members may submit one full sheet horizontally hung, or one full sheet vertically hung plus one ½ sheet or smaller, or two ½ sheets or smaller.

 

4.     MATS:  Mats must be well cut and free of debris.  Top mat must be light or muted (within a range of 7 to 9 on a value scale).  Use of a bright or dark color is acceptable if used as an under mat in a double matting combination.

 

5.     FRAMES:  Must be in good condition (corners meeting, not warped or scratched).

 

6.     GLASS OR PLEXI-GLASS:  Must be clean with appropriate cleaners used; must be in good condition and free of scratches.

 

7.     ALL WORK:  Must be equipped with wire and ready to hang.  NO SAWTHOOTH HANGERS.                                                                                                                                                 

8.     ALL WORK:  Must be available for purchase.

 

9.     DELIVERY OF WORKS:  Must follow guidelines noted above to avoid forfeiting inclusion in the show.

 

10. ENTRY FORMS/IDENTIFICATION TAGS:  Must be filled in correctly and clearly.  If not, work may be rejected.

 

11. PICK-UP OF WORK:  Must be accomplished during specified times following the close of the show noted above.  WMWS will not be responsible for unclaimed work.  WORKS MAY NOT BE REMOVED BY THE ARTIST DURING THE EXHIBIT.

 

12. SUBMISSION OF WORK TO EXHIBIT CONSTITUTES AGREEMENT TO COMPLY WITH ALL SHOW RULES.

 

13. PARTICIPATION IN THE SHOW WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IF THE ENTRY FEE OF $10 IS NOT PAID AT THE TIME THAT THE WORK IS RECEIVED.

 

14. VIOLATION OF ANY SHOW RULES will result in denial of the privilege of participating in the following year’s show.

 

15. ALL WORKS MUST BE ORIGINAL, COMPLETED AFTER THE 2005 SHOW AND NOT PREVIOUSLY SHOWN BY WMWS.  PAINTINGS DONE AT A WORKSHOP ARE NOT ELIGABLE.  The Saville Gallery requires that exhibiting artists not show the same body of work at any other local gallery/exhibition space within on year prior to the exhibition period listed above.  Work must comply with all show rules.  Non-compliance will result in immediate removal from the show.

 

16.            THE SHOW CHAIR/S reserve the right to reject any work that does not comply with the show rules.  Decisions of the show chairs are final.
